The Kozloduy nuclear power plant in Bulgaria is gradually returning to normal capacity after a reduction due to low Danube water levels. One reactor is now operating at nearly full capacity, while the other continues at maximum output. The Danube's water level has risen, allowing the plant to resume normal operations. With a total capacity of 2,000 megawatts, Kozloduy provides about 30% of Bulgaria's electricity. Opened 52 years ago, the plant has six reactors, but only units 5 and 6 are currently operational after four were shut down between 2002 and 2006 at the EU's request.
