Bulgaria caută modalități pentru a-și spori securitatea la Marea Neagră în contextul incidentelor cu drone, inclusiv activarea Articolului 4 al NATO
Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova announced the possibility of invoking NATO's Article 4 following drone attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea. Bulgaria seeks technical support for aerial and satellite monitoring of its Exclusive Economic Zone and aims for closer coordination with Romania and Turkey to ensure maritime safety. Iotova emphasized the need to address maritime security at the upcoming extraordinary European Council meeting. A meeting involving Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey is expected soon to establish concrete measures. Bulgaria plans to join NATO's "Drone Edge" initiative, allocating 80 million euros for drone systems. Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated there is no conclusive evidence linking the attacks to Ukraine, while expressing concerns over the situation in the Black Sea.
