The Romanian government has approved an additional eight million lei for the Ministry of Economy's budget in 2026 to cover expropriation costs for a new power line. This investment aims to construct a 400 kV overhead power line spanning approximately 260 kilometers across several counties. The funding will be allocated from the government’s reserve fund and is crucial for timely project execution to avoid penalties. The total compensation required is nearly 14 million lei, and the approved funds will not increase the overall budget expenses as they are reallocated within the state budget. Unused funds will be returned to the reserve fund by the end of 2026.
