Bucureștiul se pregătește să devină sediul permanent al Secretariatului Spațiului European al Învățământului Superior

Bucharest is set to host the long-term Secretariat of the European Higher Education Area starting in 2027, following government approval for its establishment. The Ministry of Education will initiate the formation of the association, with Romania designated as the host by the Bologna Process monitoring group. The decision requires political validation at a ministerial conference in May 2027, with operations expected to begin on July 1, 2027, lasting until 2033. Founding members will include education ministries from Bologna Process countries, and two institutions in Bucharest have already expressed interest in hosting the Secretariat. A key meeting in November 2026 in Dublin will focus on adopting the association's statutes, crucial for its operationalization.
