Bucureștiul pregătește OMD, o asociație pentru promovarea turistică a orașului

Bucharest is set to establish a Destination Management Organization (DMO) by early next year, aimed at promoting tourism and cultural collaboration. The DMO will be a private legal entity formed through a partnership between the municipality and tourism industry stakeholders. It will focus on increasing tourist numbers, diversifying offerings, and protecting heritage. The organization will be funded through a monthly transfer from a tourism promotion tax, with an initial budget of 70,000 lei. The mayor emphasized the inclusion of universities and cultural institutions in the DMO's structure. The council will consist of 7 to 11 unpaid members, meeting monthly to oversee operations. The DMO will also manage promotional campaigns and develop integrated tourism products.
