Traffic in Bucharest is severely impacted by numerous construction sites, particularly on Dimitrie Pompeiu Boulevard, where a new one-way system has worsened congestion. Drivers now spend up to 90 minutes to cover two kilometers. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasizes that these works are essential for the city's modernization and that the discomfort is unavoidable. The situation is expected to remain challenging until the end of the year, with ongoing projects affecting major boulevards. Tram line rehabilitation works are also underway, contributing to the delays. Completion of the tram works is anticipated by next summer, but further expansion plans will prolong the construction period.
