București–Ilfov tratează 100% din deșeurile municipale | Eco Sud
Bucharest and Ilfov County have initiated a new waste management phase, ensuring 100% treatment of municipal waste and diverting 55% from landfills. This marks a significant advancement in Romania's environmental infrastructure, aligning it with major European capitals. Eco Sud SA emphasizes that this achievement stems from an integrated regional infrastructure capable of processing waste volumes. The CMID Vidra facility plays a crucial role, featuring advanced treatment technologies and a capacity of 920,000 tons per year. The shift from waste disposal to recovery and recycling is evident, with over 40,000 tons of recyclable materials being reintegrated into the economy annually.
