Bucharest Traffic Police apply almost 250 fines in four hours
Bucharest Traffic Police issued nearly 250 fines during a recent operation focused on road safety compliance among pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter users. The operation resulted in 248 fines, with the majority for pedestrian violations. Additionally, 37 driving licenses were suspended and four registration certificates were withheld. Serious accidents in Bucharest have increased, with notable rises in incidents involving cyclists and electric scooters. In the first half of 2026, there were 28 serious accidents involving scooters, compared to 24 in the same period of 2025.
