Bucharest General Mayor plans Destination Management Organisation for tourism promotion

Bucharest's Mayor Ciprian Ciucu plans to establish a Destination Management Organisation (DMO) to enhance tourism promotion in the city. The DMO aims to unify various stakeholders in the tourism sector and develop a coherent strategy with a dedicated budget. Funding will primarily come from tourist taxes, and a draft proposal is expected soon for city council approval. The DMO will operate independently from the City Hall, led by a credible professional, and will focus on marketing campaigns and partnerships to boost tourism. It is anticipated to be operational by winter or spring.
