Breșă uriașă de securitate cibernetică, cu România pe lista victimelor: STS, SRI și alte instituții au cumpărat echipamente vizate de hackeri, în valoare de zeci de milioane de euro
Romania is among 70 countries targeted in a major cyberattack affecting Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks security equipment. Hackers have stolen over 70,000 authentication credentials, impacting various government and military institutions. The attacks, attributed to the group "k0t," occurred over eight months, with vulnerabilities in Fortinet products allowing unauthorized access. Despite warnings from the National Cyber Security Directorate, the extent of the compromise among Romanian institutions remains unclear. Fortinet has acknowledged the ongoing threat but claims no new vulnerabilities exist. The hacker's motives appear financially driven, with potential links to ransomware groups.
