The study also highlights a concerning trend in digital problem-solving skills, with nearly 60% of students facing functional illiteracy. Overall, 38.5% of Romanian students scored below Level 2 in all three competencies: Science, Mathematics, and Reading, marking a 5.3 percentage point increase from PISA 2022. Specific results show 52% in Mathematics, 46% in Science, and 48% in Reading below the basic level.
