BREAKING | Nuclearelectrica schimbă decizia: Unitatea 2 de la Cernavodă rămâne conectată

Nuclearelectrica announced that Unit 2 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant will remain connected to the National Energy System after safety assessments. The decision follows a previous announcement of a controlled shutdown due to low Danube water levels. Experts confirmed that operational parameters allow safe functioning, although the situation remains volatile. Unit 1 is still offline and will only be reconnected when conditions permit. Maintaining Unit 2 ensures 700 MW of nuclear production, alleviating pressure on the energy system during high demand. Continuous monitoring of the Danube's water level is essential, and immediate shutdown may occur if safety limits are breached.
