BREAKING | Leul, la cel mai slab nivel din istorie față de euro în interbancar

The Romanian leu has significantly depreciated against the euro, reaching a historic low of 5.35 lei per euro in the interbank market. This decline follows a nearly 5 billion euro drop in Romania's foreign exchange reserves in one month, now totaling 60.06 billion euros. The official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania was 5.2777 lei per euro, which is lower than market rates. As a result, costs for goods and services priced in euros, such as rent and telecom bills, will increase for consumers, despite their salaries remaining in lei.
