BREAKING: Guvernul a cerut Comisiei Europene să urgenteze verificările pe „amendamentul Fritz”
The Romanian government has requested the European Commission to expedite checks on the "Fritz amendment" in the Integrity Law to ensure compliance with EU law before submitting a payment request for a PNRR milestone. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Minister Oana Țoiu discussed this with European Justice Commissioner Michael McGrath. The government aims to secure the full €770 million related to the integrity legislation amid concerns about its alignment with EU principles. A timely verification could allow for necessary amendments to protect Romania's financial interests and legal effects of the law. The European Commission has also sought clarifications regarding the new Integrity Law, particularly the "Fritz amendment."
