BREAKING | Deficitul se reduce cu 28,36 miliarde de lei față de 2025 și coboară la 2,34% din PIB

Romania's budget deficit decreased significantly in the first seven months of 2026, reaching 2.34% of GDP, down from 3.99% in 2025. This reduction of 28.36 billion lei reflects improved fiscal management, with revenues rising by 11.2% while expenditures grew only by 2.9%. The increase in tax revenues, particularly from VAT and property taxes, contributed to this positive trend. Investments also saw a notable rise, supported by European funds. The government aims to maintain this fiscal discipline to foster sustainable economic growth.
