Bucharest's mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, has urged the STB management to seek insolvency to prevent financial collapse, citing mismanagement and political decisions as key issues. He highlighted the company's debt of 1.72 billion lei and the reliance on city subsidies. Ciucu criticized the ADI TPBI for failing to control costs and mentioned ongoing legal disputes that could worsen STB's financial situation. He proposed that insolvency could help renegotiate contracts and protect employee salaries while maintaining public transport services. Ciucu also pointed out the need for a revised funding model for transport between Bucharest and Ilfov.
