Braşovul, primul oraş în care vor fi instalate lifturi în blocurile vechi cu cel puţin trei etaje
Brașov is the first city in Romania to approve a guide for the 'Lift for Life' program, aimed at installing lifts in older buildings. The initiative targets buildings with at least three floors that lack lifts and are not classified as historical monuments. Mayor George Scripcaru emphasized the need for such a project, especially for elderly residents and those with mobility issues. The city has also submitted two buildings for a national pilot project. Prioritization for lift installation will be based on a scoring system, considering factors like the presence of disabled residents and technical documentation. Funding will be sought from various sources, including European and government funds.
