Brașov, Suceava, and Mediaș have qualified for the final of the 'Youth Capital of Romania 2028' competition. In September, over 50 local NGO representatives, school directors, sports club managers, students, and private entity representatives gathered to support Mediaș's candidacy. The final will take place during the Youth Summit 11 in Alba Iulia from October 21-25, 2026, where finalists will present their cases to an independent jury. This qualification enhances national visibility and collaboration opportunities for the municipalities. Initially, ten cities entered the competition, marking the highest participation in the program's decade-long history. The winner will receive the title, a €50,000 prize from BCR, and professional support from the program's governance.
