The Brașov Running Festival aims to double its amateur participants to 5,000 by 2030 and attract around 100 elite athletes. This year's event, scheduled for October 3-4, will feature over 2,500 amateur runners and 60 elite athletes from more than 20 countries. Due to high interest, some valuable athletes had to be turned away due to logistical and financial constraints. The 2026 edition has a budget of approximately 400,000 euros, slightly reduced from the previous year, leading to a temporary cancellation of concerts to enhance the runners' experience. Additionally, resources are being allocated to the Cluj-Napoca event, which attracted around 2,200 participants. The festival also aims to promote Romanian athletes and is considering expansion into Bucharest, contingent on securing commercial partners and funding.
