BPOC și astmul sever: diagnosticul și tratamentul la timp pot schimba evoluția bolii (P)

Severe asthma and COPD significantly impact patients' quality of life and healthcare systems. Delayed diagnosis and inadequate management can lead to exacerbations, hospitalizations, and increased costs. COPD affects around 392 million people globally, being the third leading cause of death, with 3 million annual fatalities. In Romania, 8.3% of the population has COPD, primarily affecting retirees. Exacerbations pose serious risks, including increased mortality and cardiovascular issues. Early diagnosis and continuous monitoring are crucial for managing these conditions. Severe asthma affects about 1 million Romanians, often underdiagnosed and inadequately treated, leading to significant morbidity. Personalized management and adherence to treatment are essential for controlling asthma and preventing severe attacks.
