Bovine confirmate cu rabie în județul Harghita / Autorităţile au dispus măsuri pentru limitarea răspândirii bolii

Two cattle in Tomești were confirmed to have rabies, prompting local authorities to implement measures to control the disease's spread. The animals, an adult cow and a young bovine, were located about five kilometers apart. All individuals who had contact with the infected animals, including a veterinarian, were directed to receive rabies vaccinations. A protection zone of three kilometers was established around the outbreak sites, along with a surveillance zone of seven kilometers. Additional investigations are underway for other suspected rabies cases. Authorities emphasize the importance of managing wild animal populations, particularly foxes, to prevent further outbreaks.
