Botswana aprobă o fabrică de 140 de milioane de $, care va deveni primul complex integrat de minerale pentru baterii din Africa de Sud

Kemcore has received environmental authorization for a $140 million chemical production plant in Botswana, facilitating its project financing and construction. The facility will supply chemicals for copper and cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. The company aims to secure project funding by December 2026, with construction starting in 2027 and initial production expected in early 2028. The plant will produce around 150,000 metric tons of battery mineral reagents annually and will be strategically located near essential raw materials. This initiative positions Botswana as a key player in the chemical supply for the growing mining sector in the region.
