Borussia Moenchengladbach has dismissed coach Eugen Polanski after a poor start in the Bundesliga, losing all three matches. The decision followed a heavy 0-5 defeat to Freiburg, leaving the team at the bottom of the standings. Polanski, who took over in September 2025, was unable to achieve the desired results despite a promising summer preparation. Sporting director Rouven Schroeder stated that recent performances necessitated a change. Jan-Moritz Lichte, a former Mainz coach, will take over as interim manager.
