Constantin Toma, the mayor of Buzău, announced he will not run for re-election under the PSD banner, considering an independent candidacy instead. He has resigned from all PSD positions but remains a party member. Toma indicated he might accept support from another political party, excluding any collaboration with AUR or SOS România. Previously, he was elected with significant majorities in the last two local elections.
