Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan urged citizens, companies, and public authorities to voluntarily reduce electricity consumption due to Romania's limited import capacity. He noted that large consumers have already begun to lower their usage, with a reported decrease of about 200 megawatts. Discussions with major industrial consumers led to agreements on adjusting operations, with some companies temporarily halting production. Notably, Dacia and Ford will suspend production until August 19, contributing to the estimated energy savings. Bolojan emphasized the importance of voluntary measures to manage peak evening demand and thanked those who have already complied.
