Bolojan: Sistemul energetic este stabil, după închiderea reactorului 2 de la Cernavodă / Va fi un grup interministerial pentru deblocarea proiectului Bala 2
Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania's energy system remains stable despite the controlled shutdown of Unit 2 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant due to low Danube water levels. He highlighted that the missing nuclear energy, about 650 MW, is being compensated by hydro, wind, coal production, and imports. Bolojan emphasized the need for long-term energy strategies and announced the formation of an inter-ministerial group to advance the Bala 2 project, which aims to increase water flow to Cernavodă. He criticized past decisions that delayed necessary projects, which could have maintained energy supply.
