The Danube's water flow has dropped significantly, impacting hydroelectric production and leading to a regional deficit of over 4,000 MW. Romania is importing more than 2,500 MW during peak evening hours, but infrastructure limitations hinder further imports. The government is maximizing internal energy production and working to maintain the operation of the Cernavodă nuclear unit.
