Bolojan, după oprirea ambelor reactoare de la Cernavodă: „Sistemul energetic este stabil”. Guvernul deblochează proiectul Bala 2

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan assured that the national energy system is stable despite the shutdown of Unit 2 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant due to low Danube water levels. The loss of 650 MW of nuclear energy is being compensated by hydro, wind, coal production, and imports. Bolojan announced the unblocking of the Bala 2 project to ensure long-term water supply for the plant. He criticized past investment failures and emphasized the need for a long-term vision in energy policy. Emergency measures have been taken to maintain cooling water for the reactors, and a new inter-ministerial group will prioritize the Bala 2 project, expected to be completed in about three years.
