Ilie Bolojan stated that those with higher salaries will maintain their current income until lower-paid colleagues catch up. The European Commission has accepted this increase but requires Romania to find additional revenue or cut expenses to maintain budget balance. Protests from various public sector employees continue, and further discussions with unions are planned. Bolojan emphasized that the project is the maximum feasible under current economic conditions, warning that failure to adopt the law could result in losing 770 million euros in EU funds.
