Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that Romgaz will soon sign the contract to acquire the Azomureș chemical plant, expected to operate at full capacity by early next year. The necessary approvals were finalized recently, allowing for the takeover. Over 800 employees will be transferred to Romgaz, which plans to restart operations after a thorough technical audit due to the plant's long inactivity. This acquisition is linked to future hydrocarbon exploitation in Romania's continental shelf and aims to stabilize fertilizer production for agriculture, reducing reliance on imports. Bolojan emphasized the importance of this investment for price predictability in the food sector.
