Bogdan Peşchir, financier of Călin Georgescu's TikTok campaign, has been indicted for voter bribery involving 874 acts. Prosecutors allege he provided $290,225 in benefits to influence voters during the 2024 presidential elections. This included 868 gifts on TikTok and cryptocurrency transfers to users. The scheme involved recruiting influencers to promote Georgescu, with payments disguised as creative activities. Peşchir allegedly directed discussions to encourage voting for Georgescu, creating an expectation of rewards for voters. The indictment has been sent to the Brașov Court, and Peşchir's activities were also linked to a significant financial contribution to the campaign, exceeding one million euros. TikTok confirmed payments made by Peşchir to influencers, further implicating him in the electoral manipulation.
