Bogdan Ivan: România are prețuri mari la energie pentru că nu a investit aproape deloc în stocare

Romania faces high energy prices due to a lack of storage capacity, according to former Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan. He emphasized the need for investment in energy storage to manage the variability of renewable sources. Ivan noted that the lengthy authorization process for storage projects hinders development. During peak consumption times, Romania resorts to energy imports, leading to significantly elevated prices. He highlighted that imported energy costs can range from 1,500 to 3,000 lei per megawatt during specific hours.
