Boeing a înlocuit pasagerii cu 9.000 kg de cartofi. A urmat un experiment genial la 10.000 de metri în aer • Newsweek România
Boeing conducted an experiment using 9,000 kg of potatoes to simulate passengers and study Wi-Fi signal stability in aircraft. This approach allowed engineers to analyze how signals interact in a cabin filled with 'synthetic personnel.' The experiment, named SPUDS, helped identify weak Wi-Fi areas and improve connectivity in various Boeing models. Potatoes were chosen for their similar signal absorption properties to humans, enabling prolonged testing without the need for actual passengers.
