BNR și-a înrăutățit prognoza privind evoluția inflației până la sfârșitul lui 2026, aceasta urmând să depășească nivelul de 6,1% estimat anterior - Economica.net
The annual inflation rate in Romania is expected to rise beyond the previously forecasted 6.1% by the end of 2026, driven by increasing fuel and energy prices, commodity price hikes, and currency fluctuations. The National Bank of Romania (BNR) indicated that inflation will follow an upward trend due to these factors, particularly influenced by the Middle East conflict and severe drought conditions. Risks related to inflation remain tilted upwards in the short term, especially concerning oil prices. Despite these challenges, some agricultural sectors have shown positive performance, potentially mitigating price increases. The BNR decided to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at 6.50%.
