BNR: Rata anuală a inflaţiei va fi mai mare la final de an decât a fost estimat anterior
The National Bank of Romania revised its inflation forecasts, expecting a higher annual rate of 6.1% by December 2026, compared to previous estimates. Inflation is projected to decrease to 3.4% by December 2027 and 2.8% by June 2028. The bank anticipates a significant decline in inflation starting in Q3 2026, influenced by the removal of energy price caps and tax increases. However, inflationary pressures may persist due to rising energy and food prices, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. The council noted a sharper decline in private consumption in 2026, impacting overall economic growth.
