BNR pregătește reguli noi pentru creditele românilor: Băncile ar putea depăși limita de îndatorare, iar titlurile de stat intră în joc

The National Bank of Romania proposes changes to credit rules, allowing more flexibility for certain loans. The project includes using government bonds as collateral and modifies debt-to-income limits. Bonds must be traded on regulated EU markets and meet specific conditions. The maximum loan amount based on collateral value is set at 80%, with stricter rules if bonds are purchased with borrowed funds. Daily evaluations of collateral are required, and banks can consider income from bonds in credit assessments. New rules also apply to foreign currency loans, requiring guarantees of at least 133% of the loan value. Overall, banks gain more leeway in assessing borrowers' debt levels.
