BNR menține dobânda-cheie la 6,50%. Inflația ar putea crește din nou până la finalul anului • Newsweek România
The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has decided to keep the key interest rate at 6.50% amid fluctuating inflation rates. Although inflation decreased significantly in July and August, it is expected to rise again by the end of the year due to various risks, including rising fuel and energy prices, currency exchange fluctuations, and geopolitical tensions. The BNR also maintained the Lombard lending rate at 7.50% and the deposit facility rate at 5.50%. Despite a recent drop in inflation to 6.17%, pressures from external factors and domestic uncertainties could lead to an upward trend in prices. The Romanian economy has stagnated, with a slight decline in household consumption and an increase in the trade deficit. The BNR emphasizes the importance of utilizing European funds to mitigate the impact of these challenges on the economy.
