The National Bank of Romania is launching a rectangular silver coin to commemorate the 140th anniversary of painter Nicolae Tonitza's birth. This unique coin, part of the 'Romanian Painters' series, features a colored depiction of Tonitza's painting 'Flori galbene'. The coin weighs 31.103 grams, has a nominal value of 10 lei, and is the first of its kind issued by the bank. It will be available for sale at 1,150 lei, with a limited mintage of 500 pieces. The coin is accompanied by a presentation brochure and a certificate of authenticity.
