BNR lansează o nouă bancnotă de 100 de lei, dedicată lui Eugeniu Carada, întemeietorul Băncii Naționale a României

The National Bank of Romania will issue a commemorative banknote on September 14, 2026, celebrating 190 years since the birth of Eugeniu Carada. The banknote, valued at 100 lei, will be sold for 240 lei and is aimed at collectors, with a limited print run of 16,000 copies. It features a portrait of Carada and images of the BNR's old palace, incorporating various security elements. Additionally, 1,000 special sheets containing four banknotes will be available for 840 lei, including VAT. Sales will commence on September 15, 2026, through regional branches of the BNR.
