BNR avertizează că seceta extremă poate duce la un nou val de scumpiri la energie și alimente

The National Bank of Romania has kept the key interest rate at 6.5% amid high inflation and economic stagnation. It expects a significant decrease in inflation by Q3 2026, despite risks from drought, energy prices, and global crises. Economic activity is projected to slightly recover in the second and third quarters of 2026, with retail sales and construction showing improvement. However, the trade deficit remains a concern, and inflation is anticipated to gradually decline, returning to target levels by the end of 2027.
