BMW vine cu plan profund de restructurare. Compania germană plănuiește să reducă nivelurile de management, să dea un rol mai important inteligenței artificiale și să lanseze modele noi - Economica.net

BMW has unveiled a comprehensive restructuring plan aimed at reducing management levels, leveraging artificial intelligence, and launching new models to regain investor confidence after profit warnings and a significant drop in stock value. The German automaker targets a profit margin of 3%-5% for its auto division by 2028, with a goal to return to 8%-10% in the early 2030s. The plan includes a 20% reduction in divisions and management roles by mid-2027, with AI playing a key role in streamlining operations. Following poor performance in China, BMW is also implementing voluntary layoffs affecting around 8,000 jobs in Germany. The company is adapting its product range to market trends, planning to launch a basic electric vehicle in Europe by 2028 and a luxury SUV for the U.S. market. In China, BMW aims to localize production and collaborate more with local partners for technology development.
