Bloomberg: UE pregătește o nouă strategie comercială împotriva Chinei. Deficitul de 360 de miliarde de euro pune presiune pe Bruxelles
The European Union is assessing trade data to identify increased imports, potentially leading to import quotas on additional goods from China and other countries. The European Commission is examining various sectors, including chemicals and machinery, and may implement protective measures if a rise in imports is detected. Recently, an agreement was reached with China to limit hybrid vehicle imports to 350,000 units annually, which could serve as a model for other sectors. Some EU member states, particularly Germany, are urging swift action to impose import quotas to address the significant trade deficit with China, which has reached 360 billion euros. Ahead of the December summit, the Commission plans to propose measures to encourage European companies to diversify suppliers and tackle overcapacity issues.
