Bloomberg: În plină criză la Marea Neagră, România se oferă să plătească o parte din costurile trupelor SUA, înaintea deciziei Pentagonului
Romania is willing to cover part of the costs for the stationing of American troops on its territory, as it seeks to maintain U.S. military presence amid potential troop reductions in Europe. Currently, around 1,000 U.S. soldiers are stationed in Romania. The Romanian government plans to invest approximately 4 billion euros in the Mihail Kogălniceanu airbase by 2040 to accommodate more troops. Additionally, Romania aims to increase defense spending to align with NATO goals. Recent incidents involving commercial ships near Romania's coast have raised security concerns, prompting France to offer support against drone threats in the Black Sea.
