Blocaj pe Canalul Sulina. Transportul cerealelor s-a scumpit
The blockage at the Sulina Canal is causing delays for ships exiting to the Black Sea, with wait times increasing significantly. Currently, around 13 vessels are waiting, and the situation is impacting transport costs for Ukrainian grain. Avalon Shipping's operations manager highlighted that the congestion is affecting both entry and exit from the canal, with wait times rising from one day to 3-4 days. The increased delays are leading to higher transport tariffs, with costs rising by $10 to $25 per ton depending on the route. Maintaining export routes is crucial for Ukraine, as a slowdown in shipments could result in over 9 million tons of grain lacking adequate storage by October.
