The vessel, carrying migrants to Yemen, capsized on October 8-9, with 82 survivors reported. OIM teams are providing emergency assistance and medical care to survivors, while search operations continue. This tragedy highlights the dangers faced by migrants in the region, as many attempt to reach wealthier Gulf states despite ongoing conflicts in Yemen. Since September 10, over 20,000 migrants have arrived in Djibouti, with a total of approximately 178,000 entries recorded this year.
