Two earthquakes struck the Junín region of Peru, resulting in at least six fatalities and 21 injuries. The quakes caused significant damage, with many homes collapsing and fears of more victims trapped under debris. The first quake registered a magnitude of 5.1, followed by a second of 3.7. Preliminary assessments indicate around 48 homes were destroyed and 18 damaged, affecting approximately 300 people. Emergency shelters have been set up for those displaced, and search operations continue as authorities warn that the death toll may rise.
