Berlin has withdrawn from the race to host the Summer Olympics in 2036, 2040, or 2044, leaving Munich and Cologne as the remaining candidates. The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is set to decide on the chosen bid soon. Berlin did not hold a public consultation, and recent elections shifted support away from the Olympic bid. The evaluation committee scored Berlin lower than its competitors, Munich and Cologne, ahead of the final decision.
