BERD estimează că economia României va scădea cu 0,2% în 2026

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development forecasts a 0.2% contraction in Romania's economy for 2026, followed by a 1.8% growth in 2027. Economic growth in Southeast Europe has slowed, with Romania facing challenges from high inflation and fiscal consolidation affecting household spending. Manufacturing output has significantly declined, while the construction sector has seen growth due to EU-funded infrastructure projects. Despite a reduction in external imbalances, Romania's current account deficit remains high. Inflation peaked at 9.7% in May 2026 but decreased to 6.3% by August. Risks persist due to uncertainties in fiscal policy and external demand.
