The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has exited its stake in Romanian telecom group Digi Communications by selling 3.525 million shares. This sale, completed on September 3, 2026, represents 3.31% of class B shares and 1.21% of the total capital of Digi. EBRD had initially acquired a 3.25% stake in 2017 during Digi's IPO, contributing to the liquidity and market capitalization of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Over the years, Digi has strengthened its position in Romania and expanded internationally, recently completing a successful IPO for its Spanish subsidiary. EBRD has invested over €12.7 billion in Romania since 1991, focusing mainly on the private sector.
