BCE ar putea majora dobânzile cu încă 25 de puncte de bază în acest an, pe fondul inflației ridicate
The European Central Bank is expected to raise interest rates by 25 basis points at least once more this year to combat high inflation, according to an IMF report. Inflation in the eurozone has exceeded the ECB's target, prompting previous rate hikes. ECB President Christine Lagarde has cautioned against aggressive market expectations, attributing rising prices mainly to energy costs driven by geopolitical tensions. Eurostat data shows inflation rose to 3.8% in September, the highest in three years. The IMF suggests further rate increases may be necessary to maintain inflation control, with projections indicating inflation will average 3% in 2026 and gradually decrease to 2.1% by 2028.
